Micro-needling

A minimally invasive procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin to generate new collagen

What is Micro-needling

Also known as collagen induction therapy, Micro-needling is minimally invasive procedure that uses small needles to prick the skin to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin.

The aim is to cause mild trauma to the skin, without causing damage to healthy tissue. Each tiny wound goes through three classic phases of wound healing, as any wound would which stimulates the bodies natural healing process to produce collagen.

Recovery is rapid with very mild to no residual pain or discomfort.

This treatment can be done on the face, neck & body.

A typical session

A typical Micro-needling treatment at the Westoe Practice will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour, starting with a consultation to help us fully understand your concerns, and what you would like addressed during the session.

During the procedure, the makes small pricks under the skin with a pen-like tool. The pinpricks are so small that you likely won’t notice them after the procedure. The therapist will move the tool evenly across your skin so that the new skin that rejuvenates will be even, too.

How can it help you?

Micro-needling stimulates the bodies natural healing response. Each tiny prick causes the ‘damaged’ cells to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin.

The treatment is mainly used on the face and neck region and can help with the appearance of various scars, wrinkles, and large pores, and other facial blemishes.
