Nutritional Therapy

We support you to enhance your health and well being

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is the application of nutrition science to help achieve optimum health and well being.

It helps to identify potential nutritional imbalances and deficiencies that can affect the normal functioning of the body’s system.

If these are left for long enough, they can lead to disease, as the body is depleted of the raw.

How can it help you?

Nutritional therapy is relevant for individuals with chronic conditions, as well as those looking for support to enhance their health and well being.

Nutritional therapy considers each individual to be ‘unique’ and recommends a personalized nutrition and lifestyle programme rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach. In this way therapists view wellness in terms of physical, mental and the spiritual balance of a person’s health.

Nutritional therapists can work alongside a medical professional and will communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the client’s care to explain any nutritional therapy programme that has been provided.

Nutritional Therapy Consultations – What to Expect

Before the first consultation, the practitioner usually provides a health and nutrition questionnaire for the client to complete. An initial consultation typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes, and in this time the practitioner asks detailed questions such as:

The practitioner evaluates individual needs and uses the extensive evidence base for nutritional science to develop a personalised, safe and effective nutrition and lifestyle programme.

If necessary, tests can be used to investigate further – either by use of NHS testing or specific functional testing from a private laboratory to pinpoint the root cause of illness.

Follow up consultations are generally after four weeks in order to monitor progress and make any necessary adjustments. Further follow-ups may be required depending on each individual situation.
